The Chicago Cubs continued their hot streak at Wrigley Field, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 7-3 on Sunday. Michael Busch powered the offense with a three-run homer, while Pete Crow-Armstrong delivered three hits, scored three times, and stole two bases as the Cubs wrapped up a 5-1 homestand.
Jameson Taillon earned his third straight win, pitching 1/3 innings and allowing just two runs. The Cubs took control with a four-run third inning, highlighted by Crow-Armstrong’s RBI single, Dansby Swanson’s run-scoring double, and Busch’s eighth home run of the season.
With the victory, the Cubs improved to 37-22 and remain atop the NL Central, having won of their last games. The Reds’ Elly De La Cruz hit a two-run homer, but Cincinnati couldn’t keep pace as Chicago’s balanced lineup and strong pitching proved decisive once again.
