Tray Chaney’s Henry County Tragedy: What Happened in Georgia Leaves Many in Shock

Actor Tray Chaney, best known for his role on “The Wire,” is facing unimaginable loss after an EF-2 tornado ripped through his Henry County, Georgia home on Thursday. The powerful storm destroyed the family’s house in Locust Grove, hurling Chaney’s 18-year-old son, Malachi, nearly 300 feet into the woods and leaving him in critical condition in the ICU.

Chaney himself was knocked unconscious by the tornado and later recounted waking up under debris, frantically searching for his son. Neighbors ultimately found Malachi in the woods, suffering from multiple broken ribs and facial fractures Despite the devastation, Chaney has expressed gratitude for the support of his community and shared that Malachi is showing small but hopeful signs of recovery, such as squeezing his father’s hand.

The tornado struck just before p.m., leveling the home the Chaney family had built only five years ago. The National Weather Service confirmed the twister’s path was close to that of another tornado that hit the area in April As the family begins the long process of recovery and rebuilding, Chaney’s message is clear: cherish life and loved ones, as everything can change in an instant.
