LSU Shreveport Baseball’s Perfect Season: The Streak That Left Everyone Guessing

LSU Shreveport baseball just made history with a feat never before seen in college baseball: a flawless 59-0 season, capped by their first NAIA national championship. The Pilots clinched the title with a 13-7 victory over Southeastern University in Lewiston, Idaho, overcoming early deficits and sealing their place in the record books.

Throughout the 2025 NAIA Baseball World Series, LSUS dominated, outscoring opponents 49-17 and winning the final three games by double digits, including a decisive 14-4 win over Hope International. The Pilots’ offense was relentless, with every starter batting over .300 for the season and three players—Ryan Davenport, Anthony Swenda, and Josh Gibson—topping .400.

LSU Shreveport’s 59-game win streak shattered previous records across all divisions, eclipsing the former mark of 46 consecutive wins by Savannah State. In conference play, the Pilots went 30-0, winning 28 games by at least runs. Head coach Brad Neffendorf now boasts a 270-49 record over six seasons, and five Pilots were named to the NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team.

After a season of dominance, the only question left: Can LSUS repeat perfection in 2026?
