US Open Final Qualifying 2025: Who Survived Golf’s Longest Day?

The road to the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club is nearly complete as final qualifying—famously known as “Golf’s Longest Day”—wrapped up across ten sites in the U.S., plus Japan and England. This grueling 36-hole test determines the last players to secure their spot in one of golf’s most prestigious championships.

Notable qualifiers include NCAA champion Michael La Sasso, who punched his ticket in an earlier round. Each site offered a limited number of spots, with competition fierce and several big names missing the cut. For example, at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas, 86 players competed for just seven places, while in Japan and England, only a handful advanced from large fields.

The final field for the U.S. Open, set for June 12-15, 2025, at Oakmont, will feature those who survived this marathon qualifying process along with players earning exemptions through recent PGA Tour victories and other criteria The USGA will announce the complete list of qualifiers and alternates ahead of the championship’s opening round.
