A Milwaukee jury has found Maxwell Anderson, 34, guilty on all counts in the gruesome 2024 murder and dismemberment of 19-year-old Sade Robinson, ending a nine-day trial that gripped the city. The verdict, delivered in less than an hour of deliberation, included first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse, and arson.
Prosecutors revealed that Anderson and Robinson met for a first date on April, 2024, dining at a local restaurant before returning to Anderson’s home. Evidence presented at trial included video and phone records placing Robinson at Anderson’s residence, as well as disturbing photos found on Anderson’s phone showing Robinson incapacitated on his couch In the days following her disappearance, body parts belonging to Robinson were discovered at multiple locations across Milwaukee County, while her burned car was found abandoned the next day.
The jury was shown hundreds of images and heard from dozens of witnesses, with prosecutors arguing that Anderson meticulously planned the crime and attempted to cover his tracks by burning Robinson’s car and scattering her remains Anderson did not testify in his own defense, and his legal team argued there was no direct evidence linking him to the murder, but the jury found the circumstantial case overwhelming.
Anderson is scheduled for sentencing on August, facing mandatory life imprisonment.
