National Donut Day 2025 brings free donuts and special deals

National Donut Day returns on Friday, June, 2025, bringing a wave of free treats and special deals from America’s favorite donut shops. Celebrated annually on the first Friday in June, this beloved holiday honors a tradition started by The Salvation Army in 1938 to support soldiers during World War I.

This year, major chains are rolling out irresistible offers:.

• Krispy Kreme is giving away one free donut of any variety—no purchase necessary. For those with a bigger craving, buy a dozen and get a second dozen Original Glazed for just $2.

• Dunkin’ is offering a free classic donut with the purchase of any beverage, both in-store and via their app.

• Duck Donuts is handing out free cinnamon-sugar donuts, no purchase required.

• Other favorites like Shipley Do-Nuts, Honey Dew Donuts, and Sheetz are also joining the celebration with their own giveaways and discounts.

Donut lovers can find participating locations by searching “Krispy Kreme near me” or “Dunkin’ near me” to make the most of the day’s deals.

National Donut Day isn’t just about free food—it’s a celebration of a uniquely American tradition, from the “donut lassies” of World War I to today’s coast-to-coast festivities. Whether you’re after a classic glazed, a trendy maple-bacon, or a limited-edition collaboration like Dunkin’s Stoney Clover Lane collection, June is the day to indulge.
