Editorial policy
How Latest Headlines chooses, writes, checks and corrects the news.
Our mission
Latest Headlines helps readers understand the news people in the United States are talking about, fast. Every story opens with its key points, links to related coverage and answers the questions readers actually ask.
How we choose stories
We follow two signals: the major events of the day and what readers are searching for right now. Our desk monitors real-time search trends in the United States around the clock — that list is public on our Trending page — and covers the topics that matter to our readers in politics, business, sports, technology, science, health and entertainment.
How stories are produced
Stories are compiled by the Latest Headlines newsroom from public reporting, official statements and primary sources. We use software tools to monitor trends, help draft and summarize stories, and organize them by topic. Key points, FAQs and topic pages are derived only from the facts in each story. Headlines must accurately reflect the story — no clickbait.
Accuracy and corrections
We aim to be accurate and fair. When we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as possible and update the story's modification date. To report an error, contact us with the link to the story and the correction requested.
Independence
Latest Headlines is independent. It is not affiliated with any political party, government or company covered in its stories. Advertising is served automatically by Google and never influences coverage; it is always visually separate from editorial content.
Images
Images illustrate the subject of a story. They are not always photographs of the specific event described. If you are the rights holder of an image and want it credited or removed, contact us.
