Fox, who started Sunday’s final round tied for the lead with Matteo Manassero, held his nerve as a crowded leaderboard saw 23 players within four shots of the top heading into the day.

Burns made a late charge with a sensational 62, vaulting himself from four shots back into a tie for the lead by the end of regulation. The playoff saw both players repeatedly challenge the par-5 18th, but it was Fox’s precise 3-wood on the final playoff hole that set up a tap-in birdie and sealed the win after Burns three-putted for par.

Top Canadian Nick Taylor finished tied for 13th at under, earning honors as the highest-placed home favorite, while Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Hadwin, Taylor Pendrith, and Corey Conners all finished at under in a tie for 27th Rory McIlroy, a pre-tournament favorite, missed the cut after a difficult week.

Fox takes home $1.764 million from a total purse of $9.8 million, along with 500 FedExCup points The tournament showcased low scoring and fierce competition, with players shooting 65 or lower in Saturday’s third round.
