Braves vs Giants: Yastrzemski Breaks Out, But There’s More to the Story

The San Francisco Giants completed a three-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves on Sunday with a 4-3 win, extending their winning streak to five games and sending the Braves to their seventh straight loss Mike Yastrzemski, who had been hitless in his last at-bats with runners in scoring position, delivered a clutch two-out, two-run double in the fourth inning to tie the game, then scored the go-ahead run on an error by Atlanta’s Ozzie Albies.

Matt Olson drove in all three runs for Atlanta, but it wasn’t enough as the Braves, now 27-37, dropped to a season-low games under .500 and have lost of their last contests Giants starter Landen Roupp earned the win, while Camilo Doval secured his ninth save of the season.

The Giants’ bullpen held Atlanta scoreless over the final three innings, and the team heads into their next series against Colorado with momentum. The Braves, meanwhile, look to regroup as they begin a road trip to Milwaukee, searching for answers after another close defeat.
