Tornado Watches, High Winds: What’s Next for OKC Weather?

Oklahoma City faced another round of severe weather Sunday night, with damaging winds, large hail, and tornado watches issued across the metro and surrounding counties. Meteorologists tracked storms producing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and flash flood warnings were in effect for several areas, including Oklahoma, Canadian, and Cleveland counties.

KOCO and News provided live updates as storms rolled through, with viewers reporting downed trees and power outages. The National Weather Service confirmed that severe thunderstorms with destructive winds, very large hail, and a couple of tornadoes moved across southern Oklahoma and northern Texas overnight While the most intense storms have shifted east, the risk of scattered severe weather—including damaging winds and isolated tornadoes—remains for parts of the state into Monday.

Residents are urged to stay alert for rapidly changing conditions and continue monitoring local forecasts as the threat of severe weather and flash flooding persists.
