The Mandalorian & Grogu: Sigourney Weaver’s Role Revealed—But Who Is She Really?

Star Wars fans were treated to a major surprise at Star Wars Celebration Japan, as the first exclusive images and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the highly anticipated film "The Mandalorian & Grogu" were unveiled. One of the biggest revelations was the involvement of Sigourney Weaver, who joins the Star Wars universe as a mysterious Rebel pilot.

Weaver appeared on stage alongside Pedro Pascal and director Jon Favreau, confirming that her character holds a position of authority and will be responsible for sending the Mandalorian and Grogu on a perilous mission to the Outer Rim—where danger is never far away. Weaver shared her excitement, stating, "I have the chance to share scenes with little Grogu, which is probably why I did the film… I play a wonderful character in a position of authority"1.

The footage also introduced Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Jabba’s son, and confirmed the return of fan-favorite Zeb Orrelios from "Star Wars: Rebels"2. The film promises large-scale sets, including an imposing Walker, and will be released in IMAX for a true cinematic experience. "The Mandalorian & Grogu" is set to hit theaters on May, 202, marking the first Star Wars feature film since.

With action-packed scenes against stormtroopers and the return of beloved characters, the film is already generating intense buzz—but the true nature of Weaver’s character remains shrouded in secrecy.
