The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) is making waves in its inaugural 2025 season, bringing professional softball to ten cities across the U.S. and offering fans a new way to experience the sport. With a barnstorming schedule that runs from June through July 24, the league’s four teams—Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts—are set to compete in a 24-game regular season, followed by a best-of-three championship series in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from July 26-28.
Games are being played in cities including Rosemont (IL), Wichita (KS), Sulphur (LA), Chattanooga (TN), Norman (OK), Omaha (NE), Seattle (WA), Salt Lake City (UT), Round Rock (TX), and Tuscaloosa (AL). This touring format serves as a “tryout” for potential home cities next year, with the league planning to move to city-based teams in 2026.
AUSL’s launch marks a significant milestone for women’s professional softball, bolstered by Major League Baseball’s investment and the leadership of commissioner Kim Ng, former Miami Marlins GM. The league features national TV coverage on ESPN2, ESPNU, MLB Network, and FanDuel Sports Network, with streaming available on Fubo and ESPN+.
The opening week’s matchups include Talons vs. Bandits in Rosemont and Volts vs. Blaze in Wichita, with star athletes like Lexi Kilfoyl, Maya Brady, Montana Fouts, and Tiare Jennings taking the field Softball legends Jennie Finch, Cat Osterman, Jessica Mendoza, and Natasha Watley serve as league advisors, adding credibility and excitement to the league’s ambitious debut.
With unprecedented broadcast reach and a fresh approach to professional softball, the AUSL is set to redefine the landscape for players and fans alike. Will your city become the next softball hotspot? Stay tuned as the AUSL season unfolds.
