Nintendo Switch made its highly anticipated appearance as an official partner at Summer Game Fest 2025, just days after the console’s launch. Despite the hype, the showcase delivered a mixed bag for Nintendo fans: while the new console’s power and design were praised, the number of new game announcements was notably limited, especially from third-party developers.
Among the highlights, "Scott Pilgrim EX" was revealed for an early 2026 release, alongside family-friendly titles like "LEGO Voyagers" and "LEGO Party" set for 2025. "Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree" was dated for September, and "Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny" is coming in fall 2025. The indie scene was represented with "Mio" and "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire!" both confirmed for Switch in 2025.
Despite upgraded specs—including a custom Nvidia chip and expanded memory—many anticipated AAA third-party games were missing from the lineup. While demanding titles like "Cyberpunk 2077" and "Madden NFL 26" are now possible on Switch, their presence at the event was minimal, raising questions about the pace of third-party support moving forward.
Nintendo’s usual preference for revealing major titles during its own Direct events may have contributed to the slim lineup at Summer Game Fest. For now, Switch owners can look forward to a handful of new exclusives and enhanced ports, but the wait continues for blockbuster announcements.
