The UTSA Roadrunners’ remarkable postseason journey came to a close after falling to the UCLA Bruins in the Los Angeles Super Regional. UCLA swept the best-of-three series, winning Game by a score of 5-2 and shutting out UTSA 7-0 in Game to clinch their first College World Series berth since 2013.
UTSA, making its first NCAA super regional appearance in program history, started strong in Game with an early home run from Mason Lytle. However, UCLA’s Roman Martin delivered a clutch three-RBI performance, and the Bruins’ bullpen held firm to secure the win.
Game saw UCLA’s offense break out, steadily building a lead and never looking back. The Bruins’ pitching staff dominated, holding the Roadrunners scoreless and limiting their opportunities throughout the game With the sweep, UCLA improved to 5-0 in the NCAA Tournament and punched their ticket to Omaha.
