Netflix’s new Western drama Ransom Canyon has viewers hooked with its sweeping Texan landscapes and tangled family drama—but there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
The series stars Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland, a stoic rancher haunted by loss, and Minka Kelly as Quinn O’Grady, his longtime friend and potential love interest. Key locations include the sprawling Blame Her Ranch, standing in for the Bar W Ranch, and other ranches that capture the rugged beauty of the Southwest.
So, while Ransom Canyon’s story is pure Texas, its breathtaking vistas are all New Mexico. For fans, that’s just one more secret hidden beneath the surface of this must-watch Western.
