Jordan Peele's Latest Horror "Him" Trailer Teases Marlon Wayans' Chilling Mentorship — What’s the Sacrifice?

The first trailer for Him, Jordan Peele’s newest horror collaboration through Monkeypaw Productions, unveils a sinister twist on sports mentorship. Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), the film stars Marlon Wayans as Isaiah White, a legendary quarterback who invites rising star Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers) to train at his secluded compound. What begins as a dream opportunity spirals into a psychological nightmare as White’s methods grow increasingly disturbing, blurring the line between ambition and obsession.

Written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie (Limetown), the script—originally titled GOAT—landed on the Black List before Universal fast-tracked production. The trailer, debuted at CinemaCon, hints at ritualistic undertones and a "blood-chilling journey into fame’s darkest costs," per studio notes. Wayans’ enigmatic Instagram tease—"Bro… it’s different"—aligns with Withers’ on-stage hint that the film "burrows under the skin."

With a September, 202 release date, Him joins Peele’s legacy of socially charged horror, this time dissecting toxic masculinity and the price of greatness. The cast includes Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, and musician Tierra Whack in her acting debut. Bobby Krlic (Midsommar) composed the score, amplifying the trailer’s mounting dread.
