Five people were shot and wounded at Virginia State University (VSU), one critically. VSU was locked down early Saturday morning, following a shooting involving multiple suspects just as students were preparing for the new school year.

A mass shooting occurred at VSU near the Quad Annexes. Five people were injured, with one person currently listed in critical condition.Campus police said multiple victims were transported to area hospitals.
