Rockstar releases GTA 6 launch trailer ahead of November 19 debut

Rockstar Games has released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer, confirming the game's launch date of November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The new video, captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, focuses on the protagonists, Jason and Lucia, and their story within the fictional state of Leonida.

The trailer reveals that Jason previously served in the army but is now struggling to find work. It also depicts Lucia calling Jason from jail, hinting at the events leading to their reunion. According to the trailer's description, when an easy score goes wrong, the duo finds themselves in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other to survive.

The video features the track Flower in a Hurricane by the electronic music duo Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. This song is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the game's official soundtrack. Within minutes of its release, the trailer had been viewed nearly half a million times.

While the console release is set for November 19, 2026, reports indicate that the PC version may launch earlier than historically typical for Rockstar Games, with some sources suggesting a window in early 2027. The game has also been confirmed as eligible for nomination at this year's Game Awards show.
