Amanda Seyfried Talks 'Interesting' Life at Academy Museum Gala and Documentary Role

Amanda Seyfried, 40, appeared solo at the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 17, 2026, wearing an elegant black strapless Prada gown accented with Tiffany diamonds.

During a brief interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Seyfried described her current circumstances as “interesting,” adding that she feels “everything that’s happening is meant to happen” and that she is “meant to be here.”

Seyfried, who lives on an upstate New York farm with her two children, also spoke to Variety about her cameo in the newly released documentary You Can See Everything, which follows Elizabeth Holmes.

Documentary Details

The documentary, directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, includes a scene in which Seyfried meets Holmes’ longtime partner, Billy Evans, at his Texas home. During the encounter, Seyfried questions Evans about his finances, power of attorney, and his handling of Holmes’ verified X account.

Evans acknowledges posting messages from Holmes’ account without consulting her about every post, noting that their relationship involves enough trust for him to know what she would want him to say. Some of the messages written in Holmes’ name contain profanity.

Prior to the documentary’s release, a September 2026 statement on Holmes’ X account publicly identified Evans as one of the loved ones managing the account.

Seyfried previously won an Emmy for portraying Holmes in Hulu’s series The Dropout, a role that informed her involvement in the documentary.
