Falcons Rookie LB Kendal Daniels Hospitalized After Severe Neck Injury vs. Bears

Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels suffered a severe neck injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Daniels was carted off on a stretcher after his head collided with Bears tight end Colston Loveland’s knee, prompting an extended delay during which both teams took a knee.

The Falcons later released a statement confirming Daniels is alert and has movement in all his extremities and that he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Following the incident, the team ruled Daniels out for the rest of the game, which the Falcons were trailing 31-15 in the fourth quarter.

Daniels had started all six games of the season, recording 23 tackles (12 solo) and one sack before the injury.

Atlanta will look to Josh Woods to replace Daniels for the remainder of the contest.
