Oregon Ducks Edge Nebraska Cornhuskers 17-14 in Fourth-Quarter Comeback
The Oregon Ducks defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 17-14 on Saturday night.
The game was played in the Pacific Northwest as Nebraska traveled west to face Oregon.
Oregon entered the contest with a 3-2 overall record after a 17-15 loss to UCLA, while Nebraska came off a 20-17 loss to Indiana.
Oregon’s starting quarterback was Brock Thomas, who was chosen to start because he “protected the ball better” during the week.
Former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola entered the game in the fourth quarter and threw a 4‑yard touchdown pass to Jamari Johnson with 28 seconds remaining, giving Oregon the lead.
The touchdown changed the score to 17‑14, which remained the final result.
After the win, Oregon improved to 4‑2 overall and 2‑1 in the Big Ten, while Nebraska fell to 5‑2 overall and 2‑2 in the Big Ten.
Raiola, who spent his first two collegiate seasons at Nebraska before transferring, said, “We just rallied, we rallied around each other, you know, when we find our connection that tight it turns into a victory.”
