Eagles DT Jordan Davis Ruled Out With Ankle Injury vs Panthers
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis was ruled out with an ankle injury during the team's Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The former first-round pick left the game in the fourth quarter after sustaining the injury, adding to the Eagles' mounting injury problems.
Davis, who is 6-foot-6 and weighs 336 pounds, had previously agreed to a three-year, $78 million contract extension that includes $65 million in guarantees. This deal made him the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history. The Eagles exercised the fifth-year option on his rookie contract in April 2025, securing his services for the foreseeable future.
Following the game against the Panthers, Davis stated that x-rays on his ankle came back negative. NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark reported that Davis said he felt okay at that point. However, the team officially ruled him out for the remainder of the contest, marking the fourth significant injury for Philadelphia in that game.
The Eagles are currently 2-4 after dropping four consecutive games, including the 25-14 defeat to Carolina. The team is now preparing for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7, which is the first of three consecutive games against NFC East opponents. Davis has anchored the Eagles' defense since being selected with the No. 13 overall pick out of the University of Georgia in the 2022 NFL draft.
