Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Suffers Mild Ankle Sprain in Win Over Chargers

During the Kansas City Chiefs' 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, tight end Travis Kelce sustained a right ankle injury minutes after the matchup began.

Kelce limped off the field, removed his shoe, and received initial treatment from the Chiefs' medical staff before returning to the game after his ankle was taped.

He played a few snaps, then left the field again to receive additional tape on the injured ankle.

"mild right high eversion ankle sprain," former NFL team doctor David Chao said in an October 18 message on X.

Kansas City Star reporter PJ Green identified the cause as a sliding hip‑drop tackle by Daiyan Henley, noting that Henley's shoulder contacted Kelce's ankle.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid later said Kelce "tweaked his ankle" and "might be a little sore," while reassuring fans that the team was monitoring the situation.
