Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hold First Joint UK Appearance in Nottingham on Oct. 15

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first joint appearance in the United Kingdom on October 15, meeting locals and volunteers from several charitable organizations in Nottingham.

The Sussexes completed a walkabout at the Community Recording Studio (CRS) before moving on to each of their engagements, a sequence described as resembling a royal event despite not being an official royal engagement.

They were accompanied by former Kensington Palace aide Beth Herlihy, who has served as their programme coordinator since the Sussexes split from Prince William and Catherine’s Foundation in 2018, and by her PR‑firm co‑founder Clara Loughran.

Herlihy helped the couple carry flowers and balloons gifted by well‑wishers and assisted in organising schoolchildren to line up for the walkabout.

“This was a successful event with no narrative other than supporting the organizations,” an insider told Daily Mail editor Alison Boshoff.

“For security reasons, it had the shape of a royal event, but that is because, ultimately, that is who they are,” the friend added.

The friend also noted that Prince Harry was “genuinely touched by the warm welcome” he received and indicated the Sussexes intend to continue public engagements focused on interacting with the general public.
