Match Summary

Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Villa Park on Saturday 24 October 2026.

Nicolas Jackson scored both Villa goals, capitalising on errors from Marc Guehi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Erling Haaland headed in a equaliser for City later in the match.

The win marked Villa’s first home win of the Premier League season and gave them three consecutive victories across all competitions.

Manchester City suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season, ending Enzo Maresca’s side’s 100 percent winning start.

Villa made more tackles in the first half than they had in any opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game this season or last.

Unai Emery said, “Every game we are playing is giving us more information about how we can get stronger and how we can feel more comfortable collectively and deliver it. The European matches we’ve played and won were fantastic but now the Premier League is our priority.”
