Zach Edey ruled out for Sunday’s game as Grizzlies face Kings
Zach Edey has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings due to left ankle injury management.
He will sit out the front end of this back-to-back set.
On Friday, Edey recorded 10 rebounds and two blocks as the Memphis Grizzlies earned a 111-108 road win over the Golden State Warriors.
He also posted eight points, three assists, a steal and a plus-25 plus/minus in that game.
Steve Kerr said, "I thought Zach, his defense down the stretch, was really good."
Edey blocked a Stephen Curry 3‑point attempt during the Grizzlies' late run.
Earlier in the season, Memphis opened with a home win over the Utah Jazz in which Edey logged six points, nine rebounds, two blocks and a plus‑19 plus/minus.
Memphis coach Tuomas Iisalo noted, "He was on (Graham) Ike. He was on (Draymond) Green. He was on (Gary) Payton (II). I think he was on (Al) Horford," adding that Edey "found a way to impact the game against all of these guys."
