Collin Gosselin’s memoir details abuse claims

Collin Gosselin, 22, released a memoir titled In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, in which he resurfaced accusations of abuse and neglect by his mother, Kate Gosselin.

A former housekeeper and nanny for the Gosselin family said she witnessed Kate Gosselin’s alleged behavior toward Collin, describing it as “downright evil and nasty,” and reported the incidents to child services. The housekeeper noted that child services investigated but did not find evidence supporting the abuse claims.

Sister Hannah’s position

Hannah Gosselin, 22, posted on TikTok on October 21, stating she is “taking a step back” from the situation because she has not lived with her father in over a year and has not spoken to Collin in close to a year. She added that she maintains a relationship with her mother and other siblings.

During an October 22 appearance on The View, Collin said he has seen Hannah many times in the past year, including at his house with their father, and offered to show photographs if requested.

Colleen Conrad’s tribute

Colleen Conrad, Jon Gosselin’s former partner, posted an acknowledgment after reading Collin’s memoir, writing, “I read what you had written to me and cried all over again,” and affirmed she will always consider herself Collin’s mom.
