Aaron Ashby Extends Postseason Shutout Streak in Brewers' Game‑2 World Series Win
On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, Aaron Ashby threw during the eighth inning of Game 2 of the World Series in Milwaukee, a matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ashby finished a five‑out save after the Brewers rallied from a four‑run deficit to win 5‑4, giving Milwaukee a 2‑0 series lead. He struck out Yandy Díaz to end the game, stranding the potential tying run at third base.
The outing extended Ashby’s postseason shutout streak to 15 2/3 innings. According to Sportradar, the longest streak of consecutive scoreless relief innings in a single postseason is 16 innings, set by Cleveland’s Andrew Miller in 2016.
Including the regular season, Ashby has thrown a career‑best 20 2/3 straight scoreless innings. The 28‑year‑old noted, “I don’t know that I have the words to describe it… Maybe when it’s all said and done.”
Brewers relievers have allowed seven earned runs over 50 2/3 postseason innings, contributing to Milwaukee’s ability to come from behind in seven of its nine victories.
