Santos FC draws 1-1 with Bahia after playing with ten men

Santos FC fought back to a 1-1 draw with Bahia on Saturday night, 24 October 2026, in Matchweek 32 of the 2026 Brazilian Championship.

The match took place at Vila Belmiro in Santos (SP) under pouring rain that left the pitch waterlogged and covered in puddles.

Bahia opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Luciano Juba collected a loose ball on the edge of the box and smashed it home before halftime.

Santos' early chance came in the first minute when Coutinho received a pass, entered the box and shot, forcing Bahia goalkeeper Ronaldo to make a save; later in the same minute a Bahia attack led by Erick Pulga nearly scored.

Five minutes in, Coutinho headed a ball from Neymar's corner, but the goal was disallowed because the ball had gone out of play during the cross.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Neymar was shown a red card after covering his mouth during a verbal dispute, leaving Santos with ten men for the remainder of the half.

In the 47th minute of the second half, defender Luan Peres scored to level the match for Santos.

The draw gave Santos 46 points, maintaining their position in eighth place in the league table.

Santos will host Palmeiras on Wednesday, 28 October, at 7:30 p.m. at Vila Belmiro in Matchweek 33.
