Newcastle United beats Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, moves to seventh

Newcastle United returned to winning ways with a 2-0 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Second‑half goals came from William Osula two minutes after the break and Harvey Barnes eleven minutes later.

The win lifted Newcastle to seventh place in the Premier League table and gave manager Matthias Jaissle a significant boost ahead of upcoming fixtures.

Newcastle made five changes to the starting line‑up, bringing Dan Burn, Fabian Schär, Amar Dedić, Jacob Murphy and William Osula into the side.

Crystal Palace, managed by Pierre Sage, failed to convert first‑half chances and fell to their fifth loss in eight games.

The match saw early pressure from Crystal Palace, with Jean‑Philippe Mateta forcing goalkeeper Lukáš Horníček into action, but Newcastle were unable to register a shot on target before the interval.
