Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio cites early injury in Cooper DeJean’s tackling woes

Cooper DeJean intercepted Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season, moving the Philadelphia Eagles into field‑goal range before halftime.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said the stinger DeJean suffered early in the season could be contributing to his reduced tackling this year.

Fangio added that DeJean has not missed any time this season.

Despite the tackling concerns, Fangio expressed satisfaction with DeJean’s overall play this season.

Pro Football Focus gave DeJean a coverage grade of 51.2, ranking him 235th among 310 defensive backs.
