Dune: Part Three final trailer released as Villeneuve saga nears end

The final trailer for Dune: Part Three has been released, marking the conclusion of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s universe. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, closing out the trilogy.

Based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, the story picks up nearly two decades after Paul Atreides becomes Emperor. The official description states that he is now a ruthless emperor who must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. The narrative explores a complicated relationship between Paul and Chani as rebellion threatens their world. Duncan Idaho returns as a resurrected ghola named Hayt, adding further emotional conflict to Paul’s life. A new villain, Scytale, leads a covert Bene Tleilax scheme targeting House Atreides.
