Cavaliers Rally Past Wizards 121-111 as No. 1 Pick AJ Dybantsa Debuts

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Washington Wizards 121-111 at Rocket Arena on Wednesday.

AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, made his NBA debut for Washington, scoring 19 points in 26 minutes, including nine points in the first quarter—the most first‑quarter points by a Wizards rookie debut since at least the 1996‑97 season, according to Sportradar.

Washington led early, holding a 42-34 advantage after the first quarter and a 69-59 lead at halftime, before taking a 13‑point edge early in the third quarter.

The Cavaliers rallied in the second half, with Evan Mobley contributing 24 points, Peyton Watson 22 points, and Donovan Mitchell 19 points, to erase a 105-104 deficit and finish with a nine‑point run that secured the win.

Mobley also recorded a career‑high five three‑pointers and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.

For the Wizards, Anthony Davis and Alex Sarr each added 18 points, Bilal Coulibaly 17 points on perfect shooting for his first eight attempts, and Kyshawn George dished out 11 assists.

The victory marked Cleveland’s third straight win and extended its streak over Washington to 17 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the league.
