Milwaukee Brewers Win First World Series Title, Defeating Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5
The Milwaukee Brewers captured their first World Series championship on Wednesday night, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5.
The victory gave the franchise its first World Series title in its 57‑year history.
Milwaukee’s veteran catcher William Contreras was named the World Series Most Valuable Player on Wednesday.
The Brewers finished the postseason with an 11‑2 record, losing only twice after the regular season.
In each of their final 18 games of 2026, including the postseason, the Brewers allowed fewer than five runs, surrendered fewer than ten hits, and recorded at least five strikeouts, a streak unmatched in MLB history.
The team’s last game allowing more than five runs came on September 22, when they fell 6‑4 to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Tampa Bay Rays became the fifth team in World Series history to force a Game Five after trailing 3‑0.
