Lakers Lead West at 8-2, Luka Doncic Questionable Ahead of Pistons Clash

Following a 124-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers improved to an 8-2 record and sit first in the Western Conference standings.

In that game, Luka Doncic scored 53 points in 38 minutes, contributing to the win that marked the Lakers' fourth consecutive victory.

For the upcoming matchup against the Detroit Pistons, Luka Doncic is listed as questionable because of lower‑back tightness. The team’s head coach, JJ Redick, is reported to be taking a cautious approach with his players’ health.

In related roster news, the Lakers announced the recall of Bronny James after he posted 22 points in a G League opener.

The Lakers will aim to maintain their position at the top of the standings as they prepare for the game against Detroit.
