Did You Miss Out? The $1,400 Stimulus Check Deadline Is Closer Than You Think
Millions of Americans could still pocket up to $1,400 from the IRS—but only if they act fast. The window to claim the 2025 stimulus check is closing, and many eligible taxpayers remain unaware they qualify.
If you didn’t receive the third round of stimulus payments in 20, you may be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit. To claim it, you must file a 2021 federal tax return by April 1, 2025—even if you had little or no income that year. Single filers with an adjusted gross income up to $7,000 and married couples earning up to $150,000 can receive the full amount. The benefit phases out at higher incomes, ending at $80,000 for individuals and $160,000 for couples
The IRS has already sent automatic payments to those who filed but didn’t claim the credit. If you never filed your 2021 return, you must do so before the deadline to get your check. U.S. citizens living abroad and resident aliens with a valid Social Security number may also qualify if they meet the criteria
Don’t assume you’re out of luck—review your 2021 tax return or check your IRS account. With over $1 billion in unclaimed payments, this could be your last chance to receive a stimulus check in 2025
