Anthony Colandrea Shines in Thrilling College Football Showdown Against Boise State

The Mountain West Championship is always a spectacle, and this year’s game between the UNLV Rebels and the Boise State Broncos did not disappoint. The game, which took place on December 5, 2025, showcased the talents of several key players, none more so than UNLV’s quarterback Anthony Colandrea.

Colandrea, who is a critical player for the Rebels, put on a strong performance in the face of a formidable opponent. The game started with the Broncos taking an early lead, but Colandrea responded with a five-yard touchdown run, narrowing the gap to 21-7. This was a pivotal moment in the game, showcasing Colandrea's ability to rise to the occasion and keep his team in contention. Unfortunately, this was not enough as Boise State extended their lead with a 39-yard touchdown reception from Malik Sherrod.

Despite the setback, Colandrea continued to lead his team. He managed another touchdown before halftime, with a crucial pass to Troy Omeire, making the score 28-14. This touchdown was a testament to Colandrea's resilience and strategic play, keeping the Rebels in the game despite the Broncos' dominant performance. However, the Broncos' defense, particularly linebacker Marco Notarainni, played a crucial role in halting UNLV’s momentum. Notarainni’s defensive play of the game, including a key sack on Colandrea, was instrumental in securing the Broncos’ victory.

Despite the final score of 38-21 in favor of Boise State, Colandrea’s performance was nothing short of impressive. His passer rating of 135.5 with 215 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception in the game against the Broncos is a testament to his skill and determination.

In the end, Boise State's victory secured their third consecutive Mountain West title. While the Rebels' performance was valiant, the Broncos' superior offensive and defensive strategies proved to be the deciding factors. Despite the loss, Colandrea’s impressive performance against one of the top teams in the conference has earned him respect and recognition among college football enthusiasts. As the Rebels look ahead to future challenges, they can take pride in the resilience and skill demonstrated by their star quarterback in this crucial game.
