Anticipation is soaring for "Wicked: For Good," the second installment of the blockbuster musical adaptation, set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025. Picking up where the first film left off, the sequel will follow Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) as they confront the Wizard’s deception and face life-altering choices that transform them into the iconic figures from Oz.

Director Jon M. Chu returns, promising a deeper dive into the characters’ journeys and new musical moments that expand the story beyond the Broadway original. The returning cast includes Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose.

"Wicked: For Good" was filmed back-to-back with the first movie, ensuring continuity and a seamless transition between the two parts The sequel is expected to feature major plot developments, including Glinda’s wedding and the Wizard sending Dorothy and her companions on their fateful mission, as teased in early footage.

A special one-day theatrical re-release of the first "Wicked" movie is scheduled for July, offering fans an exclusive first look at the new trailer before it debuts online Universal Pictures is also planning a musical television special featuring the cast this November to build excitement ahead of the film’s release.

With new songs, emotional twists, and a larger role for Dorothy, "Wicked: For Good" is shaping up to be a must-see event for musical fans and newcomers alike.
