Fortnite Death Star Live Event: The Countdown, the Sabotage, and What’s Next

Fortnite’s highly anticipated Death Star Sabotage live event brought players together on June, 2025, for a dramatic Star Wars-themed season finale. The event began at PM ET (11 AM PT), with players able to queue up as early as noon to secure their spot and prepare for the galactic showdown.

During the event, participants joined forces in parties of up to four, piloting X-wings or TIE fighters as Emperor Palpatine threatened to unleash the Death Star’s superlaser on the Battle Royale Island. The interactive experience lasted roughly 15–25 minutes, blending cinematic storytelling with hands-on action as players attempted to sabotage the Death Star and prevent total destruction.

Epic Games has not confirmed the exact duration of downtime following the event, but the new Fortnite season is expected to launch shortly after the conclusion of Death Star Sabotage Players who participated received exclusive in-game rewards, and the event was accessible across all major platforms, including mobile and cloud gaming services.
