Saints Lose 16-10 to Steelers in NFL’s First France Game, Coach Moore Faces Criticism
Saints fall 16-10 to Steelers in NFL’s inaugural France matchup
New Orleans played the NFL’s first game in France on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Stade de France.
The Saints were defeated 16-10 by the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking their fifth setback in seven games.
The loss left New Orleans at the bottom of the NFC South, a spot the team has occupied for most of Kellen Moore’s tenure as head coach.
New Orleans entered the game 1‑4 on the season, after three straight home defeats, including a 45‑24 loss to Atlanta the previous week.
The defeat was the 16th loss in 24 games under Moore.
Owner Gayle Benson publicly said she will “not accept this level of performance” and criticized the team’s results.
Benson added that Kellen Moore and his coaches are responsible for preparing players, and that General Manager Mickey Loomis and the football staff share that responsibility.
Center Erik McCoy called the outcome “extremely frustrating,” and edge rusher Cam Jordan said he “did not see that coming.”
Coach Moore responded to Benson’s comments by stating the organization is “shooting for the same goals and aspirations” and that the focus remains on collective improvement.
