Heritage Classic pits Canadiens vs. Jets at Winnipeg's Princess Auto Stadium

The 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic, the first of three outdoor NHL games this season, is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. ET. The matchup features the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the home of the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers. It marks the first NHL game at a CFL stadium since 2023 and the first at this venue since 2016.

Entering the game, the Canadiens hold a 5‑3‑2 record while the Jets are 4‑3‑3. Montreal’s captain Nick Suzuki is sidelined with an upper‑body injury. The Jets will start goaltender Stuart Skinner and the Canadiens will start Jakub Dobes.

Jets captain Adam Lowry said the team “got off to a good start and kind of hit a skid” after practice at the stadium, adding that there is “no better time” than the Heritage Classic to address areas of their game.

Winnipeg has lost four straight games, and Montreal has lost three straight meetings with the Jets. The Jets recently traded goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils for forwards Dawson Mercer and Nick Bjugstad, goalie Nico Daws, the rights to prospect Alexander Command, and two draft picks.

Betting lines list Montreal as a –118 favorite and Winnipeg at –102, with an over/under of 5.5 goals and a 10‑10 even record for total goals between the clubs. The game will be televised on TVAS, SN, TNT, truTV and HBO MAX.
