Milwaukee Brewers Capture First World Series Title with 4-1 Win over Rays

Brewers win first championship in franchise history

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 of the 2026 World Series at Tropicana Field, securing the first World Series trophy in the club’s 57‑year existence.

The victory capped a postseason in which Milwaukee went 11‑2, eliminating the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and finally the Rays.

During the regular season the Brewers posted a 103‑win record, entering the playoffs as underdogs despite their strong performance.

Teenage pitcher Jacob Misiorowski opened the championship game, delivering triple‑digit fastballs and striking out two batters while allowing only four baserunners before exiting with a calf cramp after five innings.

Relievers JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe and closer Trevor Megill combined for the final 3⅓ innings, surrendering just one run.

Megill recorded the final six outs of the series, sealing the win for Milwaukee.

Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt continued his postseason breakthrough, singling off Rays starter Drew Rasmussen to drive in the game’s first run and later adding a sacrifice.

With the 4‑1 triumph, the Brewers become the first team in franchise history to win a World Series championship.
