Miami Qualifying Stunner: Who Could Stop Verstappen’s Charge?

Max Verstappen delivered a masterclass in Miami qualifying, seizing pole position for the 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix with a blistering lap of 1:2.20. The Red Bull driver edged out McLaren’s Lando Norris by just 0.065 seconds in a tense Q3 showdown, marking Verstappen’s third pole of the season and the 43rd of his career

Norris, who impressed with his pace throughout the session, lost his shot at pole after clipping the kerb in the final corner. Rising star Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable rookie campaign by securing third on the grid for Mercedes, narrowly beating Oscar Piastri’s McLaren. George Russell rounded out the top five, while Williams’ Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon delivered standout performances to claim sixth and seventh, respectively

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc could only manage eighth, with Esteban Ocon’s Haas and Yuki Tsunoda’s Red Bull completing the top ten. Lewis Hamilton, now with Ferrari, will start from 12th after a challenging session

The Miami GP qualifying session was packed with drama and razor-thin margins, setting the stage for a thrilling race on Sunday. Will Verstappen convert pole into victory, or can Norris and the new generation mount a challenge in the heat of Miami?
