Don’t Nod reveals Aphelion sci-fi adventure for 2026

DON’T NOD has officially revealed Aphelion, a cinematic sci-fi action-adventure set to launch in 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PlayStation. The game’s reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase has sparked major buzz, but details about its mysterious frozen world remain tightly under wraps.

Set in 2060, Aphelion follows European Space Agency astronauts Ariane Montclair and Thomas Cross as they crash-land on Persephone, a newly discovered ninth planet at the edge of the solar system. With Earth facing collapse, their mission is humanity’s last hope—but a disastrous landing leaves them separated and struggling to survive in a harsh, reality-bending landscape.

Players will navigate treacherous terrain, use survival tools like grappling hooks and oxygen tanks, and uncover secrets hidden beneath Persephone’s ice. The game promises immersive exploration, tense stealth, and emotional storytelling—a hallmark of DON’T NOD’s previous hits.

Developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency, Aphelion aims for scientific authenticity while exploring what keeps people going when all hope seems lost. As anticipation builds, fans are left wondering: what dangers truly lurk beneath Persephone’s icy surface, and can Ariane and Thomas reunite before it’s too late?
