Brewers Manager Pat Murphy Takes Jab at Yankees After First World Series Win

The Milwaukee Brewers captured their first World Series title on Wednesday, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5.

The victory gave manager Pat Murphy his first championship as the club’s manager.

“Just remember when you were on that horses--t Yankees team. Everyone playing for themselves. Just remember.”

Murphy said the line while embracing first‑baseman Jake Bauers during the post‑game celebration.

Jake Bauers was traded to Milwaukee in November 2023 after appearing in 84 games for the New York Yankees in 2022.

In the 2026 regular season Bauers posted a .266/.389/.484 line in 144 games and recorded a .983 OPS in the NLCS, earning series MVP honors.
