Mark Tilbury claims GTA 6 Ultimate Edition saves $5,000 on nightlife
Tilbury argues that buying the $99.99 Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI could save a player $5,000 compared to spending $100 per night on food, drinks and entertainment.
Key points
- Tilbury’s video compares a $99.99 purchase to $5,000 spent over 50 nights at $100 each.
- He estimates 80 hours of gameplay at $1.25 per hour, or 200 hours at 50 cents per hour.
- The savings calculation assumes four hours of play each evening for 50 nights.
- Both editions of GTA VI are set to release on November 19.
- The claim depends on the player actually spending $100 each night and on the 80‑hour figure from one developer’s playthrough.
Mark Tilbury’s GTA 6 Cost‑Benefit Claim
Mark Tilbury, a self‑made millionaire and social‑media educator, posted a video in which he argues that buying the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI for $99.99 could leave a player $5,000 better off compared with spending $100 per night on food, drinks and entertainment.
Tilbury’s calculation starts with the $99.99 price tag for the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation; the standard edition is priced at $79.99. He assumes a player will spend about 80 hours completing the game, which he says works out to roughly $1.25 per hour of gameplay.
He further notes that extending play to 200 hours by exploring side missions would reduce the cost to about 50 cents per hour.
Based on a scenario of playing four hours each evening for 50 nights, Tilbury compares the $5,000 total cost of going out ($100 per night) with the $99.99 purchase price, arriving at a net saving of approximately $4,900.
The video states that the calculation is contingent on the player actually spending the assumed $100 each night and that the 80‑hour figure comes from a single Rockstar developer’s playthrough, which “is no guarantee of how long everyone else will take.”
Both the Ultimate and standard editions of GTA VI are scheduled for release on November 19.
