The wait is over for millions of hopefuls worldwide: the 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery results are now available online. If you entered the Green Card Lottery, you can check your status starting May 3, 202, at 12 p.m. EST by visiting the official State Department website, dvprogram.state.gov
To see if you were selected, you’ll need your confirmation number, last name, and date of birth. The U.S. State Department does not send emails or letters to notify winners-beware of scams. The only official way to check is through the Entrant Status Check portal on dvprogram.state.gov
Being selected in the DV Lottery is just the first step. Winners can apply for an immigrant visa between October 1, 202, and September 30, 202. You must still meet all eligibility requirements and complete a thorough vetting process before receiving a Green Card
Each year, up to 5,000 immigrant visas are awarded to individuals from countries with historically low immigration rates to the U.S. If you’re among the selectees, follow the instructions on the official site carefully to secure your chance at permanent residency
