Harry Kane Wins 70th Ballon d’Or as Ceremony Moves to London Palladium

The 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony took place on Monday 26 October 2026 at the London Palladium in London.

The red‑carpet arrivals began at 18:00, and the awards presentation started at 20:00 GMT, with the program expected to conclude around 22:00.

Former French international Thierry Henry and British journalist Kate Scott served as the evening’s presenters.

The ceremony was broadcast live on the French channel L’Équipe and, in Morocco, streamed for free on DAZN, which is listed as an official partner of the Ballon d’Or.

Among the nominees were three Moroccan players, reflecting the presence of the Lions of the Atlas on the shortlist.

Other notable nominees mentioned included Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Fabián Ruiz, Rodri, Lionel Messi and Harry Kane.

Harry Kane was announced as the male Ballon d’Or winner, succeeding Ousmane Dembélé.

The English striker received the award for the first time, with the citation noting his outstanding season with Bayern Munich and the Three Lions.

Alexia Putellas was presented with the women’s Ballon d’Or, marking her third triumph after previous wins in 2021 and 2022, now playing for the London City Lionesses.

The ceremony concluded with Ronaldo handing the trophy to the male winner and a tribute segment for Christophe Gleizes.
