Rays Win Game 4 in 12-Inning Thriller After Replay Overturns Brewers' Go-Ahead Call
Rays Edge Brewers 4-3 in Extra Innings to Extend World Series
The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in 12 innings in Game 4 of the 2026 World Series at Tropicana Field.
A controversial replay review in the top of the ninth inning overturned a safe call on Cooper Pratt, ruling him out after a challenge by Rays manager Kevin Cash. The overturn ended the Brewers' chance to take a go‑ahead run and shifted momentum toward the Rays.
Following the replay, the game remained tied at 3-3 until the bottom of the 12th inning, when Ben Williamson delivered a walk‑off single that secured the Rays' victory.
Milwaukee starter Griffin Jax allowed two runs in his Game 4 start.
With the win, the Rays prevented a potential four‑game sweep and the series score moved to Brewers leading 3‑1.
Home plate umpire James Hoye announced the replay decision after nearly four minutes of review.
