Missouri Voters Reject Amendment 3, Preserve Abortion Rights; GOP Map Wins, One Seat Flips Democratic

Missouri voters went to the polls Tuesday for the 2026 midterm election, deciding several major races and key issues, including abortion restrictions and the GOP‑friendly 2025 congressional map.

Voters rejected Amendment 3, with 55.5% voting “no,” preserving abortion protections in the state.

The measure would have banned most abortions, leaving exceptions only for medical emergencies, fetal anomalies, rape and incest in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Republicans won five of Missouri’s eight U.S. House seats, while Democrats secured three.

Republicans Mark Alford, Chris Stigall and Bob Onder were elected to represent the 3rd, 4th and 6th congressional districts.

One of the eight congressional districts flipped to Democratic representation.

The GOP‑friendly congressional map remained in place.
